A Thoughtful Transformation of a Family Home
Woodside House reimagines a dated detached house into a warm, modern family home designed for long-term living and effortless everyday comfort. The existing property had generous space but lacked balance, natural light, and a strong connection to the garden. Our design unlocks this potential with a series of carefully considered extensions that reshape the home without losing its traditional charm.

A new side extension restores symmetry to the front façade, while the rear is opened up through refined ground and basement additions that create bright, flexible living spaces overlooking the garden. A loft conversion adds valuable family accommodation, and a small first-floor extension helps unify the overall form.

Material choices—red brick, clay tiles, and contemporary weathering steel—blend heritage character with a clean, modern aesthetic. The result is a home that feels cohesive, spacious, and deeply connected to its setting—designed around light, lifestyle, and family growth.
